The Prompt

Develop a visual identity system including a logo, digital assets, and visual guide.

Background

OP3 is a trio based in Milan, Italy, focusing on contemporary and classical music. They have performed all throughout Italy and notably sold-out shows at the Blue Note in Milan. The individual trio members come from a classical music background and have arranged modern pop songs with a classical twist. As their brand is breaking into the dynamic music scene in Europe, they asked me to design a comprehensive visual guide to advertise their work through digital formats.

Response

Keeping true to their Italian classical background, I took the fermata symbol as the key inspiration for their logo. The fermata symbol means that a note on a musical score should be prolonged beyond the normal duration. Taking the dot in the middle of the symbol, I constructed their name utilizing the circle.

Because most of their needs focused on print and digital media, I designed several digital assets to accompany their branding efforts. These assets are quick and easy to utilize with video footage as well as printed brochures or posters. To accompany the black and negative space of their logo, I also added additional color options reminiscent of professional stage lighting.
